Halloween 09

We've had a fun Halloween so far this year. We had some nice, cooler Fall weather for a few days, then it was hot again. :( Oh well...
Kevin and Jason had fun picking out the pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. Then we brought it home and carved it. They love getting the seeds out. It's always lots of fun!
This weekend is Oktoberfest nearby where we live. We're hoping to go there- carnival, rides, games, etc. It should be lots of fun!
Then next week is our church's annual Trunk or Treat, which is always fun! Also the Rec center nearby is doing a Halloween carnival too, so we may go to that too! Lots of holiday fun!
Kevin is going to be Wolverine this year, and Jason is a cowboy. I can't wait to take pics- they look so cute in their costumes!

Home sweet home
We had a wonderful trip to NY. It was fun filled with getting to see all the sights, sounds, and tastes of NY. It was great to be able to see our good friends- and we thank them so much for all they did for us while we were there! I posted A LOT of pics and stories that go along with them. At the end of the year I have my blog printed and bound into a book, so this is my way of scrapbooking/photo album/journaling. So sorry if it's long- we just had a lot of great memories we don't ever want to forget!
A night on the town- Happy Birthday to me!!!

Well, we happened to be in NY on my 30th birthday (Sept 8). I know, yowzer! I'm getting up there! ;) And per my request, Joe and I got all dressed up, went to a nice restaurant in NY, then went to see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway! (Jon and Ashley babysat for us, thank you!) It was an incredible night and an amazing birthday I'll never forget! I LOVE The Phantom of the Opera and have always wanted to see the Broadway play of it. It was fantastic! The music was of course great! It was the best birthday present ever! Of course, we still bought the cheapest, nosebleed seats, but you could still see, enjoy, and appreciate it from there as well.
We made dinner reservations at a restaurant called The View inside The Marriott NY Marquis hotel. It had it's own private elevator that took you up to the 50th floor where the restaurant was located. Not only was this restaurant amazing because you got to see the skyscrapers of NY, but it also was constantly revolving, so the view was always changing. It was really neat! A very cool experience, and the food was great too!

Some views from The View

After dinner, we were off to see The Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theater. I was soooo excited and loved it! Even Joe liked it too!

Broadway at night
After the show, we had a little time to walk around and enjoy Times Square at night before catching our bus back to NJ. It was bittersweet because it was our last night in NY. We really loved this vacation- it was unforgetable!

Petting Farm in NJ
While we were staying with our friends Jon and Ashley in NJ, we went to this really cute petting farm place just down the road from where they live. You pay $1 and get a package of crackers to feed the animals- what a deal and the kids LOVED it! The boys love animals, so they had a great time there.
The pigs were a big hit. I told Kevin and Jason that I grew up on a farm and when I was little we had pigs- they didn't believe me.

They had these cute cutouts to take pics in. Of course Jason loved hamming it up for the camera! Too cute!!!
